The Mechanic 2011

The Mechanic is a 2011 American action trailer film starring Jason Statham as the title character. It is directed by Simon West, is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name that starred Charles Bronson. Statham stars as Arthur Bishop, a professional assassin who specializes in making his hits look like accidents, suicides, or the acts of petty criminals.
It was released in the United States and Canada on January 28, 2011.

Dean (Tony Goldwyn) tells Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) about a failed mission in South Africa in which assassins of the agency he works for were killed. Dean tells Bishop that Harry (a friend and mentor figure to Bishop; played by Donald Sutherland), was the only other person who knew about the mission; Bishop is told that Harry let information slip, betraying the company's trust. After successfully killing Harry and making it look like a carjacking, he meets Harry's son, Steve McKenna, (Ben Foster). After saving Steve from killing a carjacker, Arthur decides to train him as a "Mechanic" (someone who fixes a certain problem you have). During the training Arthur kills someone, to show Steve what it's like. He then assigns Steve a contract to take out on his own, a mechanic for another agency, named Burke (Jeff Chase). Steve is told that his only weaknesses are that he is interested in young men and small dogs (such as the chihuahua they adopt). Burke takes Steve to his apartment, but instead of poisoning him as Bishop instructed, Steve attempts to strangle him. They engage in a struggle, and Steve manages to kill him. They are then contracted to kill the leader of a cult-like church (John McConnell). After realizing that the adrenaline overdose they intended to use will be ineffective due to the target's recreational ketamine use, they suffocate him. Detected in the walls of the hotel, they are forced into a shoot-out, from which the pair escape. After this, Bishop sees one of the men he was told was killed on the South African mission Harry allegedly sold out. During a confrontation, Bishop realizes that his boss, Dean, tricked him to kill Harry. Arthur and Steve are both ambushed, but they both escape. In the process, Steve finds his father's gun, and realizes that Arthur was the one who killed him. After working together to kill Dean, they decide it is time to part company. At a gas station Steve leaves and secretly shoots the gas that has been pouring out of Arthur's car, blowing up Arthur's car and the gas station. Steve then goes back to Arthur's house and leaves in Arthur's car. Steve then activates a switch, which blows up the house. As this is happening, Steve sees a note on the car seat, which reads " Steve, if you're reading this, then you're dead!" The car then explodes killing Steve. Back at the gas station a security video revealed that Bishop jumped out of the car momentarily before it exploded, saving him. Arthur has a new truck waiting by the beach, and drives away.
